Usually pure aluminum with a purity (aluminum content) greater than 99.8% is called highpurity aluminum. It is produced from high-quality refined aluminum using a directional solidification refining method. High-purity aluminum can be subdivided into sub-ultra-high-purity aluminum (99.5% to 99.95% aluminum content), ultra-high-purity aluminum (99.996% to 99.999% aluminum content), and extremely high-purity aluminum (above 99.999% aluminum content). . High-purity aluminum is silver-white, smooth surface, with clear crystalline lines, does not contain inclusions. High-purity aluminum has low deformation resistance, high electrical conductivity and good plasticity, and is mainly used in scientific research, electronics industry, chemical industry and manufacturing high-purity alloys, laser materials and some other special applications. At present, the annual output of high-purity aluminum in China is less than 100,000 tons, and the supply of products is in short supply. According to relevant data, the annual high-purity aluminum gap in China is about 100,000 tons. There are two kinds of internationally advanced purification technologies: three-layer liquid electrolysis and segregation. The three-layer liquid method is now widely used, but compared with the segregation method, the latter has the advantages of power saving, low energy consumption, and environmental protection, and can save 6,000 degrees per ton. In addition, segregation method uses physical methods. No other additive substances are involved in the entire process, and no special additional energy is required to promote the solidification and segregation processes. In addition to the gas and dust generated by the aluminum smelting itself, no production process will occur. Poisonous and harmful substances meet the requirements of current environmental protection production. Under the guidance of Prof. Lu’s invention patent, Xinjiang Zhonghe Aluminum Factory has already applied segregation production. It is believed that with the development of domestic production technology and the improvement of product quality, high-purity aluminum will be the new direction for the development of the aluminum industry.
